Divided by the River Seine, Normandy is split between two distinct areas- lower and upper Normandy.
With frequent ferry services from four UK south-coast ports to Calais, experiencing the delights of this nearby region has never been easier.
In Basse (lower) Normandy, visitors can enjoy the local delicacy, Camembert Calvados, marvel at Mont St-Michel, re-visit the places where the great Impressionists first set up their easels, and explore the historic beaches. Normandy's coast has witnessed some of the world's most significant conflicts and sixty years ago, events here changed the face of world history.
In contrast, Haute (upper) Normandy is host to a completely different set of charms, including medieval Rouen, Monet's Giverny and the imposing chalk cliffs of the Alabaster coast.
